Coastal colleges provide educational opportunities in marine science, environmental conservation, and oceanography. 50 Best Beachfront Colleges and Universities Ranked by Affordability Methodology

We looked at approximately 120 beachfront colleges and universities listed by the National Center for Educational Statistics (NCES) College Navigator and found on the web that were in close proximity to the beach. Coastal colleges, within five miles of the ocean, were also considered. We gave preference to institutions within walking distance to the beach. Also, preference was awarded to colleges with marine research centers or educational facilities that take advantage of their coastal setting. We then ranked the institutions according to raw affordability.
