About Wright State University

Wright State University originated in 1963 when Stanley Allyn started building a high-tech technology center at the 428-acre Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. In September 1964, an inaugural class of 3,203 enrolled at the joint Ohio State and Miami branch. In 1965, Senate Bill 210 was signed into law by Governor Jim Rhodes to make it Wright State College. Wright State University Application Requirements

Getting into Wright State University is classified “minimally difficult” by Peterson’s because 5,638 of the 5,829 Fall 2017 applicants were selected for high 96.7 percent acceptance. First-year Raiders must have culminated the Ohio Core curriculum or its out-of-state high school equivalent. Four years each of English and Math coursework are recommended. Freshmen need cumulative GPAs of 2.0 and greater. Achieving a minimum 830 New SAT or 15 ACT score is mandated. Male U.S. citizens from age 18 to 25 must register for Selective Service. Foreign students must reach at least 79 TOEFL iBT, 6.0 IELTS, 57 PTE, or 4.0 LEAP marks. Transfers are test-optional for undergrads with 30+ credits at GPAs above 2.0. The Online RN-BSN Completion requires active Ohio licensure and clean FBI background checks. Graduate School entrants generally need bachelor’s GPAs of 2.7 and higher plus GRE scores above the 20th percentile. The Raj Soin College of Business stipulates minimum 400 GMAT marks. Online M.Ed. cohorts must verify 12 prerequisites and active teacher certification.

Wright State University has rolling undergrad admission until final deadlines of August 19th for Fall, January 6th for Spring, and May 6th for Summer starts. For 2018-19, Wright State University had guaranteed full-time Ohio tuition of $417 per undergrad credit or $4,627 by semester. Non-resident bachelor’s majors paid $838 per credit or $9,199 each term. Non-guaranteed costs were $4,365 to $8,937. Undergrads covered activity and technology fees totaling $463. Living at the Dayton campus’ dorms like Forest Lane added $2,816 for semester rent. According to the NCES College Navigator, the Financial Aid & Registration Office in Student Union Room 130 helps 71 percent of full-time WSU Raiders earn assistance averaging $5,929 each for $52.51 million combined.
