About the University of Wyoming

The University of Wyoming is a public university and the flagship campus in the system that uses the same name. It was established in 1886 when the campus started construction on Old Main. That was the first building on the campus and a structure still used by the university for its administrative offices. The center of the campus is home to a large space called Prexy’s Pasture, which is a popular place for students to relax and hang out on weekends and between their classes. It has eight apartment complexes and dorms for on-campus residents that let them live in private rooms and with others. U.S. News and World Report included UW on lists of the best graduate programs in education, engineering and law as well as the best colleges in the nation and world.
