The University of Nebraska-Omaha was first established in 1908. Throughout the 1930s, UNO expanded its adult education programs. UNO officially became a member of the Nebraska System in 1968. The University of Nebraska-Omaha received institutional accreditation from The Higher Learning Commission. Many of UNO’s individual programs have received their own accreditation credentials. The College of Arts and Sciences received accreditation from the American Chemical Society for its chemistry major as well as recognition from the National Association of School Psychologists and the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education Nebraska Department of Education for the psychology major. Several of the programs in the College of Business Administration have received a representation from The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. First-year students seeking admissions at UNO must submit a $45 application fee, official high school transcripts and SAT or ACT scores of 1600 or 19-26. Graduate students seeking admissions at UNO must submit a $50 application fee, official transcripts, satisfactory GRE or GMAT scores, letters of recommendation, a personal statement, and evidence of graduate potential. Space is limited in certain schools at the graduate level. Students looking to attend via virtual classroom must follow the same application steps.
Tuition and Financial Aid
Online tuition rates for undergraduate and graduate schools varies based on residency or non-residency as well as the program of choice. Undergraduate students who live on campus and are Nebraska residents can expect tuition of $22,816. Non-residents living on campus can expect tuition of $36,080. Students who live off-campus that are residents of the state can expect tuition of $22,816. Those who live off-campus and are not residents can expect tuition of $36,080. graduate students who are Nebraska state residents And live on campus can expect tuition of $22,042, and those who are out-of-state residents living on campus can expect tuition of $30,924. Nebraska resident graduates living off-campus can expect tuition of $23,504 and those from out-of-state living off-campus can expect tuition of $32,386. Nearly 49% of undergraduate students attending the university received financial aid with an average scholarship award amount of $3,959. Students can receive financial aid in the form of grants, scholarships, Federal loans, alternative loans, graduate assistantships, graduate scholarships and fellowships, and federal work-study programs.
