Ohio State University Application Requirements
Admission to Ohio State University is classified “very selective” by Peterson’s because 22,964 of the 47,782 Autumn 2018 applicants were triumphant for competitive 48 percent acceptance. First-year Buckeyes must fulfill the college-prep requirements with a high school diploma or GED. Four units of language arts and math are recommended. The Class of 2022 reported an average 3.78 GPA. Mid-range admitted SAT scores were 1260-1450. The middle 50th percentile had ACT scores of 27-31. The College of Nursing specifically mandates a 25 ACT or 1200 SAT minimum. Successful transfers completed an average of 47 college-level credits with a 3.14 GPA. The Office of International Affairs set English proficiency benchmarks of 550 TOEFL, 82 MELAB, and 7.0 IELTS. Graduate School entrants must hold accredited four-year bachelor’s degrees and GPAs above 3.0. Average GRE scores are 154 verbal and 159 quantitative. The Fisher College of Business accepts a median 680 GMAT score. Juris Doctor candidates have a mean 161 LSAT score. Medical College Admission Test scores of 510 and higher are best.
Ohio State University set freshman deadlines of November 1st for Early Action and February 1st for Regular Decision. Transfers must apply before July 1st for Autumn or October 1st for Spring semester enrollment. The Graduate School has final deadlines of July 15th, December 1st, and May 15th, but program dates vary. For instance, the MS in Mechanical Engineering closes on November 30th.
