Hofstra University is home to 13 colleges and schools: Hofstra College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Peter S. Kalikow School of Government, Public Policy and International Affairs, School of Education, School of Humanities, Fine and Performing Arts, School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell, Hofstra Northwell School of Graduate Nursing and Physician Assistant Studies, School of Health Professions and Human Services, Honors College, Frank G. The Bachelor of Arts in Psychology is a comprehensive degree program that teaches students about the methods, theories, and research related to diverse psychology areas, including cognitive science, social psychology, abnormal psychology, child development, and human and animal learning. Students learn from a faculty made up of more than 30 practicing psychologists. Students have the ability to earn academic credit for internship experiences and can participate in faculty research projects.
The Master of Arts in Public Relations focuses on critical thinking and problem solving, exceptional writing abilities, and proficiency in digital platforms. Students learn from internationally recognized faculty who share their professional experiences. They are published authors, previous government spokespersons, leaders, and active public relations board participants. Students have the ability to gain real-world experience through internships with top public relations organizations. They also have access to the Hofstra chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America and enhance the knowledge of public relations. They have the opportunity to participate in professional development activities, such as workshops, networking events, and field trips.
Hofstra University also offers various programs completely online to enable students to complete their higher education when it is convenient for them. The online courses feature simulations, multimedia presentations, and discussions. The online Master of Business Administration is a highly rated program at Hofstra University by a variety of publications, such as the U.S. News and World Report and the Princeton Review. About Hofstra University
Hofstra University is a private institution of higher learning located in Hempstead, New York. It was founded in 1935 as Nassau College, an extension of New York University. It became Hofstra College in 1939 and officially Hofstra University in 1963. Hofstra University is the only institution that was ever selected to host U.S. presidential debates in three consecutive election cycles, including 2008, 2012, and 2016. It is home to more than 11,000 students on its suburban 240-acre campus. It operates on the semester-based academic calendar.

Federal Work Study
The Federal Work-Study is a federally funded program that partially funds employment for undergraduate and graduate students. Students must demonstrate significant financial need. The award amount is based on the particular need. Students are able to work on and off campus on a part-time basis, up to 20 hours a week while taking classes. The program promotes jobs that are related to the course of study or community service. The pay is at least the federal minimum wage but varies on each student’s circumstances.
